The Duck Hunters Organization is hard at work securing the future of waterfowl hunting across the United States and Canada. Check in on the status of issues across all four flyways, including those affecting your duck hunting.

  •  “Signed. Sealed. Delivered.” Delta Waterfowl staff celebrated the recent massive legislative win in Maryland by attending a bill signing ceremony with Governor Wes Moore, Senator Elfreth, Senator Bailey, Maryland Department of Natural Resources leadership, and partners in the conservation community.
  • “Behind the Scenes” Delta Waterfowl staff recently participated in the Ontario Waterfowl Advisory Committee meeting and the Atlantic Flyway Waterfowl Committee meeting, and also met with Steven Myers, Minister of Environment, Energy and Climate Action for PEI to discuss several topics of interest to duck hunters in Canada.
  • “I Hunt. I Fish. I Vote. Duck hunters in Florida will have the chance to enshrine protections for hunting and fishing in the state’s constitution at the ballot box in 2024 thanks to a recently passed bill this session from Representative Lauren Melo. Delta Waterfowl staff and volunteers were active and vocal in supporting this legislation throughout the process.
  • “Bylaw Reviews” Delta Waterfowl staff are reviewing and currently engaged in several Ontario Municipal by-law reviews including the Town of Grimsby, the Town of East Gwillimbury, and the Town of Gravenhurst.
  • “Budget Surplus a Win for Conservation?”Delta Waterfowl supports the inclusion of $38 million that Governor John Bell Edwards of Louisiana requested in his FY23-24 Executive Budget. This money would be dedicated toward replacing and repairing critical infrastructure at the White Lake Wetlands Conservation Area—a priority waterfowl wintering ground in southwest Louisiana. Delta Waterfowl staff will continue to advocate for this funding throughout the legislative session.
  • “Canadian Firearms Ban” Delta Waterfowl staff has continued to monitor and engage with government officials on Federal Firearms Bill C-21.
