Delta Waterfowl Welcomes New Development Directors

Impactful hires better position Delta’s major gift fundraising team to ensure support of the organization’s mission

The Delta Waterfowl development team has brought on Scott Vance of Nashville, Tennessee, and David Steele of Dallas, Texas, to their team of major gift fundraising professionals.

BISMARCK, NORTH DAKOTAThe Delta Waterfowl development team has brought on Scott Vance of Nashville, Tennessee, and David Steele of Dallas, Texas, to their team of major gift fundraising professionals. The new development directors will represent The Duck Hunters Organization as it continues to grow strong support for its conservation, hunting, and waterfowl research programs.

Steele and Vance will lead the Duck Hunters Organization’s effort to engage, motivate, and inspire Delta’s loyal base of donors and volunteers in their region. Meanwhile, expanding to invite new waterfowlers to join the mission to raise awareness and funds in support of Delta and today’s most pressing needs and opportunities for waterfowl hunters.

“Scott and David will do great things for ducks and duck hunters in their regions and across North America,” said John Davis, senior vice president of development for Delta Waterfowl. “They each bring proven business acumen, heart, and a sincere passion for the things we hold dear as duck hunters. That’s a contagious combination we are fortunate to have working to protect the future of waterfowl conservation and hunting.”

Vance is building upon a nearly 30-year career in conservation that includes leadership roles within the Union Sportsmen’s Alliance and The National Wild Turkey Federation. His leadership as development director will focus on the regions of Tennessee and Kentucky from his home base near Nashville, Tennessee.

“I am extremely passionate about leaving a strong and lasting legacy for the next generation of conservationists and hunters,” Vance said. “My work helps ensure that not only will we have places to hunt and abundant waterfowl to enjoy and pursue, but that we will also have new generations of hunters who are not only safe and knowledgeable, but also deeply appreciate and cherish the opportunities provided and sacrifices of those before them.”

Positioned at Delta after spending over 15 years in the coaching and sports business, Steele’s resume is deeply rooted in development and relationship building. From his home base in Mckinney, Texas, his role will focus on collaboration in the greater Dallas/Fort Worth metro area as well as additional areas of north Texas and northern Louisiana.

“Being able to support a mission that aligns my passions for hunting and relationship building, while helping to provide resources to sustainably grow the duck population for generations to come, is a true blessing,” said Steele. “I’m driven by the passion for building relationships and helping others achieve their goals and am looking forward to doing this in Texas with Delta Waterfowl.”
