Kristen Heggenstaller grew up in Round Hill, Virginia and attended Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA on a scholarship, where she studied marketing and management with a focus on sports management. Following graduation, she worked for the National Rifle Association organizing tradeshows, executing annual meetings, and the Great American Outdoor Show. It was there that she met her husband, who introduced her to skeet shooting, deer hunting (bow, rifle, and muzzleloader) and turkey hunting, which she has come to love.

Once her children were in school, Heggenstaller decided to make a career change that focused on planning smaller-scale fundraising events and marketing. She joined Delta in November of 2023 as Expo coordinator and says that she’s excited to be back in the hunting, shooting, and outdoor industry.

“I love working hard to plan all the details of an event and seeing it come together in the end,” she says. “I love to see the faces of attendees—who may never have been to a show like ours—walk in the doors and be amazed at what they’re seeing.”

When she’s not working, you’ll find Heggenstaller running half marathons and trail races, in the woods hiking or hunting, or doing yard work—anything that gets her outside.

“We spend a lot of time exploring the game lands in the mountains of Central Pennsylvania,” Heggenstaller says. “We have a treeing squirrel dog named Gus whom we hunt with often—there’s nothing like the sound of a hound on a tree! I’ve always wanted to duck hunt, but I’ve never had the opportunity. Hopefully, I can change that soon!”
