Ashley Praus grew up in Bismarck, North Dakota, where her journey with Delta Waterfowl began. She started attending Delta events with her husband in 2010 and, after graduating with a degree in graphic design from Bismarck State College, she embarked on her career with the organization.
“Between my love for the outdoors and my passion for creativity and design, this is the perfect job for me,” Praus said. “I love being a part of the Delta Waterfowl team and being able to share my creative talents with this great organization.”
Outside of work, she enjoys a variety of outdoor activities year-round. In the summer, she loves to spend time on the boat with her husband, Brad, their daughter, Aspen, and their two dogs. She also enjoys fishing, camping, and hunting —especially hunting spring turkey, where she can watch them strut around and make their way into the decoys.
“I also enjoy bow hunting,” she said. “I love sitting in the tree stand in peace and quiet and just watching everything from above. I definitely find bow hunting to be a challenge which, in turn, makes the few times I’ve been able to harvest a deer with my bow very rewarding.”
If there was one thing that would be impossible for her to give up, it would be evening walks with her two dogs: Newt, a black Lab, and Rena, a German shepherd.
