Duckology – Examining the Pintail Problem

You have probably heard that the federal regulations that guide waterfowl hunting have already been set for the 2017-18 season. Unfortunately, pintail limits will be one bird per day in all flyways. These restrictive regulations are largely because the population is well below targets set based on pintail numbers from decades ago. In the attached short video, I outline the causes for the pintail population decline. Next Wednesday, our Duckology video will outline Delta-led research that we hope will influence regulations so they are not so drastically restrictive.
