When a puddle ducks’ eggs are eaten by predators, nearly all species will renest and try again. Mallards are most prolific, renesting four or even five times. Bluewings are least persistent – they’ll probably only renest once if the eggs are destroyed. Dr. Frank looks at the factors of renesting.
