The Duck Hunters Organization to be honored for its work for ducks and duck hunters
Delta to Receive ‘Conservation Group of the Year’ Award from Legends of the Outdoors HOF
Delta Waterfowl members and supporters are invited to attend the “Legends of the Outdoors Hall of Fame” induction ceremonies at the Johnny A. and Genny Morris Conservation Center in Springfield, Missouri on Aug. 19 to celebrate The Duck Hunters Organization’s recognition as conservation group of the year.
“We’re so pleased to honor the great work of Delta Waterfowl and help promote the future-focused Million Duck Campaign that will put a million more ducks over American hunters’ decoys each year—forever,” said Garry Mason, Legends of the Outdoors Hall of Fame founder. “Delivering the conservation group of the year award to Delta is the perfect complement to the induction of our outstanding 2023 class of legends of the outdoors.”
Mason’s Legends of the Outdoors has been honoring legendary outdoorsmen and women since 2002 with their annual induction ceremonies and banquet. More than 100 are now enshrined in this prestigious hall of fame.
“To be recognized for our work along with these great folks is, indeed, a wonderful honor for us,” said Delta’s CEO, Dr. Scott Petrie. “The Legends of the Outdoors inductees include outdoor icons and conservation role models going back generations. Besides the honor for Delta, our own communications director, Bill Miller, will be among the inductees this year! Kudos to Bill as well!”
The event is open to the public. Sponsorship information and individual ticket reservations may be obtained through the Legends of the Outdoors website or by calling 731-693-7770. Reservations are available on a first-come-first-served basis before July 31, 2023. Doors will open at 9 a.m. and the event will start at 10:30. There will be a luncheon and entertainment included.—Christy Sweigart
