Garlington joined Delta’s Board of Directors in 2024.
A Georgia native, Garlington earned a degree in marketing with a minor in economics from Georgia State University. He is founding partner of Edge Capital Group, having worked at Lehman Brothers and Credit Suisse prior to co-founding Edge Capital in 2006.
He is a co-founder of FACT Relief Foundation, which supports families of people battling a debilitating and/or terminal disease and other catastrophic life events. He serves on the board of the Bluegrass Land Conservancy in Kentucky. He’s a former commissioner on the Paris Pike Corridor Commission in Fayette County, Kentucky, and a former member of The Sayre School board of trustees. He’s also an honorary trustee of the Turner Foundation.
An avid outdoorsman and conservationist, Garlington is actively involved in wildlife and fishing conservation efforts across the world. He has a long history as a waterfowl hunter and became more involved with conservation efforts through the initiatives of his father-in-law, Ted Turner. Garlington’s wife, Jennie, works at CNN as an environmental reporter.
“The importance of conservation is growing exponentially,” he said. “I’m honored to be on Delta’s Board to help advance waterfowl conservation.”
Garlington has taken his love of fly fishing to competitive levels by winning the 1997 Golden Fly Tarpon Tournament and as a team winner in the 2013 Jackson Hole One Fly Tournament. He enjoys waterfowl hunting, wing shooting, and bow hunting.
The Garlingtons have six children and live on their farm with horses, dogs, and a variety of other animals.
