Originally from central Arkansas, Millie Winkelman graduated from Arkansas State University in 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in communication studies. Over the years, she has had the opportunity to live in and explore many locations around the U.S., including Mississippi, Michigan, and northeast Arkansas, before relocating to Bismarck to join the Delta Waterfowl team.

“Growing up in a place where duck hunting is a beloved tradition, I’d always heard about Delta Waterfowl from friends,” Millie said. “My interest was piqued further when I attended the Little Rock Expo a few years ago. Inspired by Delta’s mission to secure the future of waterfowl hunting, I knew I wanted to get involved.”

Professionally, she looks forward the opportunity to be a part of something bigger than herself, where she can truly make an impact.

“I’ve always been passionate about storytelling and using my work to convey meaningful narratives,” Winkelman said. “It’s inspiring to collaborate with a group of people all working towards the same goals.”

When she’s not working, you’ll likely find her outdoors, exploring antique stores, or spending time training her Lab-mix, Chief. She is passionate about all things outdoors, staying active, and come fall, there’s no place she would rather be looking for birds than her native Arkansas flooded timber.
