Shepstone joined the Delta board in July 2024. He is the former founding owner and president of Telecom Brokerage Inc. He’s a graduate of Iowa State University School of Business.

Shepstone’s passions include hunting, fishing, shooting, travel, gardening, and Labrador retrievers. He understands protecting and improving our natural resources is a priority.

In addition to the Delta board, he currently is a managing owner of Orchard Lake Association. He was a founding board member of the Technology Channel Association and served on the Membership Committee for the National Rifle Association.

“I first started supporting conservation after collage as a committee member for a Ducks Unlimited chapter. The eight years I spent on the DU committee and 14 years working with NRA was impactful and helped build my perspective that I now will apply to benefit Delta.

He owns and manages 1,340 acres in Decatur County, Iowa, where he regularly mentors first-time hunters.

“Many hunters further challenge themselves by bow-hunting,” he said. “If you want to take the challenge even farther, try hunting with a vice president.”

On his farm, Shepstone is most proud of the 488 acres of row crops he has enrolled in the Wetlands Reserve Program.

“The diversity of habitat that has been created by converting corn and bean production fields to marsh and moist soils is amazing,” he said.
