Richardson’s Ground Squirrels are the most common ground squirrel in the PPR. They do not eat duck eggs.

They commonly sit at their burrow entrances. They may frustrate ranchers by eating grass, but they do no harm to ducks.

Franklin’s are much more secretive and therefore difficult to shoot.
