Christmas in September

Spent September 1 (Christmas) in Saskatchewan with Spaniel Spat – glorious.

Southern prairie SK is still very dry, but once in the parklands north of Regina there was more water than I have seen in years.

More ducks too.  I was uncharacteristically picky and waited on 8 blue-wings (no Greaters). Got lucky and got 6 adult males – they are always fat and free of pin feathers as they migrate before the other sex/age cohorts.
