Beneficiaries of waterfowl dollars

I strongly believe in the North American Model of Conservation - where hunters have donated big-time for wildlife conservation.

Upland Sandpipers have greatly benefited from duck dollars. They are a shorebird that rarely uses wetlands; they are prairie grassland specialists.

They nest on grassland plots like Waterfowl Production Areas in North Dakota. Unlike ducks, Upland Sandpipers leave little scent at their nest (this straight from my dog Spat) and have nearly 70% nest success in areas where ducks tank.

Cool birds that make a habit of perching on fence posts. They largely winter in the grasslands of Argentina.
