Delta Waterfowl Expo Features Live Cooking Demonstrations by Master Chefs on the Field-to-Table Stage
Seared steaks, gameday favorites, and wild game are all on the menu in Des Moines, Iowa, this July
BISMARCK, NORTH DAKOTA — Delta’s Waterfowl’s Duck Hunters Expo, presented by HEVI, is taking advantage of every second of prime grilling weather, bringing expert chefs to one of the two seminar stages taking place on the Expo’s show floor, July 24-26 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Attendees who love time behind the grill won't want to miss the Field-to-Table Stage presented by Kamado Joe, featuring live cooking demonstrations packed with tasty new ideas and techniques. From gameday snacks to brisket and bourbon, the reverse sear, and different takes on southern coastal grilling, spectators will walk away with tips on cooking all types of meat, including their favorite fowl.
Master chefs on the Field-to-Table Stage, presented by Kamado Joe:
Chef Lamar Moore
Chef Lamar Moore brings more than 25 years of culinary experience to the table, combining Southern-inspired flavors with a passion for creating memorable meals and meaningful connections. Raised on Chicago's South Side, Moore developed his love for cooking alongside his grandmother, whose recipes and traditions helped shape his approach to food and hospitality.
A graduate of Le Cordon Bleu, Moore has cooked everywhere from high-end restaurants to major sporting events, including the Super Bowl and NBA Finals. He has also appeared on shows like “Chopped,” “Beat Bobby Flay,” and “Vegas Chef Prizefight,” where he claimed the championship title. Moore is also a James Beard-nominated chef, one of the culinary industry’s highest honors in recognizing exceptional chefs and restaurants. Today, as chef and owner of Etc. Restaurant in Chicago, Moore continues to share his bold takes on Southern comfort food and to teach others how to create dishes that foster connection and community as an ambassador for Kamado Joe.
Chef Eric Gephart
Chef Eric Gephart has built a culinary career rooted in live-fire cooking, creativity, and a passion for bringing people together through food. A North Carolina native, Gephart developed his love for cooking early through camping, outdoor adventures, and time spent around the fire. He earned a degree from The Culinary Institute of America, worked his way up from dishwasher to award-winning chef in kitchens from New York City to New Zealand, and went on to open celebrated restaurants, including the world's first ceramic grill-centered concept and a culinary school in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he refined his signature approach to culinary "edutainment."
Today, Gephart is widely recognized for his work with Kamado Joe, where he travels internationally to host live-fire cooking events, teaches virtual grilling classes to thousands of members each month, and shares the flavors and stories he collects from around the world. When he's not behind a grill, you can find him coaching soccer, surfing with his family, or serving alongside World Central Kitchen and the OCEARCH research vessel. Gephart continues inspiring backyard cooks and food lovers alike to gather around the fire and create memorable experiences.
Seminar demonstrations include “Best in Class: The Reverse Sear,” “Cast Iron and Coals: Southern Sides on the Grill,” and “Brisket and Bourbon: Smokehouse Classic Elevated.”
