Delta Waterfowl Joins Forces to Launch Canadian Wildlife Conservation Partners

Coalition will defend science-based wildlife management and protect the rights of hunters and trappers

PORTAGE LA PRAIRIE, MANITOBA — Delta Waterfowl is proud to announce its role as a founding member of the Canadian Wildlife Conservation Partners, a new coalition dedicated to protecting Canada’s outdoor heritage and ensuring a strong future for waterfowl, wildlife, and the hunting traditions we all cherish.

The CWCP unites four leading conservation organizations — Delta Waterfowl, the Fur Institute of Canada, Safari Club International Canada, and the Wild Sheep Society of British Columbia — in a collaborative effort to defend science-based wildlife management, safeguard biodiversity, and protect the rights of hunters and trappers across the country.

“For decades, Canada’s hunting community has lacked a unified voice strong enough to stand up for hunters, trappers, and conservationists nationwide,” said Brian McRae, Delta director of government affairs for Canada. “The launch of the CWCP is an incredibly exciting step forward. It ensures that decision-makers hear us loud and clear — and that the values we share as waterfowl hunters and conservationists are defended at every level of government.”

Through the CWCP, Delta Waterfowl and its partners will:

  • Advocate for hunters on national and provincial issues including firearms, access to hunting lands, and promote science-driven wildlife management.
  • Protect and enhance the traditions of hunting, trapping, and outdoor stewardship that define Canada’s national identity.

Delta Waterfowl’s leadership role in the CWCP reflects our long-standing work to ensure abundant waterfowl and secure the future of duck hunting in North America. By joining forces with other respected conservation organizations, we strengthen our ability to protect what matters most — ducks, duck hunters, and our outdoor heritage.

Hunters and conservationists across Canada are invited to learn more about the CWCP and its mission at www.canadianwildlifepartners.ca.
