Development Fundraising And Grants Coordinator

Location: Bismarck, ND (Preferred)

This position will create compelling cases for support and winning grants and proposals for individual, foundation, government, and corporate major gift prospects, as well as serve as the primary grants administrator for the organization. Additionally, this writer will create compelling content for Delta’s Annual Giving direct mail and email campaigns. The candidate will also author additional fundraising narratives for Delta’s fundraising teams. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working cross-departmentally to gather key project and program information, build the story, and then partner with fundraising staff to craft the most compelling fundraising narratives, case statements, and custom fundraising tools.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. In a timely fashion, write, edit, and prepare copy for all fundraising cases and proposals campaign messaging in a clear, compelling, and donor-centric manner.
  2. Work closely with graphic design partners to manage the completion of the visual aspect of deliverables.
  3. Collaborate closely with organizational program leads and subject matter experts to harness key mission delivery information, whilst consulting with fundraising staff to produce written fundraising products.
  4. Organize and maintain a repository of Development written materials.
  5. Assist as needed to produce copy and layout for fundraising presentation materials.
  6. Partner with Annual Giving team to create Annual Giving fundraising copy.
  7. Ensure and maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and donor-specific information at all times.
  8. Work with Delta programs directors and managers monitoring availability, requirements, deadlines, writing, follow-up, and delivery on all grant opportunities and proposals, which includes stewarding existing and future electronic and paper records ensuring relevant information is captured and easily retrieved.
  9. Accurately and thoroughly compose all programmatic grant applications and proposals.
  10. Manage the entire lifespan of each grant, which includes announcements of success (internal and external) or failure (internal), investigate ineffectual applications, develop and oversee follow-up publicity in all forms of media (magazine, social, videos, podcasts, personal appearances of associated Delta staff, etc.), and other grant management duties as required.
  11. Regularly engage and collaborate with program directors and ensure stakeholders are aware of grant requirements, deadlines, and interim deadlines.
  12. Develop and enact strategies to continually improve Delta’s grant tracking and delivery processes.
  13. Prospect, research, identify, and evaluate potential new grant funding sources to support Delta’s goals with broader-based philanthropic organizations beyond traditional wildlife and/or R3-focused funding sources.
  14. Seek input and approval on grant applications from the Chief Conservation Officer and as directed by managers within appropriate programmatic areas.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Preferred demonstrated experience and success in fundraising proposal writing.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in writing, journalism, communications, English composition, marketing, or a combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  4. Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
  5. Excellent interdepartmental collaboration abilities
  6. Self-motivation and high attention to detail
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with donor management software is a plus
