Brian Canerdy is the development director for Kentucky and Tennessee.
He holds two degrees from Murray State University: a bachelor of science in exercise physiology and a master’s degree in human development and organizational leadership. Prior to joining Delta, he was the director of development at Murray State. His experiences in that role, combined with his personal passions for the outdoors, hunting and conservation, led him to the post at Delta.
Brian is driven in his hunting and in inspiring philanthropy. He brings both to bear in advancing major gifts for Delta. He’s a genuine friend to all, inquisitive and possesses natural acumen for giving conversations. In three years as director of development at Murray State, he raised nearly $3 million for his respective units.
He lives in Murray, Kentucky, with his wife Julie and daughter Gracie, but says his heart is forever in the small west Tennessee town of Munford, where he grew up. It’s where he began hunting and still enjoys hunting today, especially for teal and wood ducks, turkeys and archery deer. When he’s not working or hunting, Brian relishes outdoor travel with his family to east Tennessee and western North Carolina, as well as visiting national parks of the west. The family camps, hikes and backpacks.
